Original Oils
This collection of available oils includes paintings done "en plein air," mostly in and around Western North Carolina near Jo's home, and throughout the eastern part of the United States and Canada. Larger studio works are inspired by Jo's imagination and memory after close observation of nature. Jo has an amazing passion for capturing those exquisite moments on our incredible earth. Her use of color, brush stoke and palette knife work in some of her more recent paintings, seem to be somewhat more abstract in nature. "For me, it is all about feeling the land, the water and the heavens and trying to put those emotions down in such a way that the viewer may also experience it," says Jo.
